Remote access (your phone)

Prevail lives on your machine, but you don’t have to be at your machine to use it. There are two ways off the desk — both off by default and locked down when you turn them on.

The WebUI

The desktop app can serve the exact same UI to a web browser — no separate mobile app, no duplicate interface. The frontend talks to the backend through one bridge (Tauri IPC on the desktop, HTTP/SSE in the browser), so the browser view is the app.

1. Settings → Remote (WebUI) — turn it on.

2. Prevail binds to loopback only and enforces an allowlist — it isn’t exposed to your network.

3. Reach it over Tailscale. Your phone joins the same tailnet as your machine and opens the WebUI as if it were local — encrypted, private, no ports opened to the public internet.

The WebUI never listens on a public interface. It’s loopback-bound and allowlisted so the only way in is a private network you control (like Tailscale). See Security & threat model.

The Telegram bridge

For quick questions from your phone without opening a browser, the gateway bridges Prevail to Telegram. Ask a question in a chat, get the council’s verdict back — with a mandatory chat-ID allowlist so only you can talk to it.

Scheduled briefings

Pair remote access with briefings and Prevail comes to you: a verdict on “what changed in wealth this week?” can land on your phone at 7am.
